Lib Dem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Plymouth Moor View, Stuart Bonar has been looking at the cost of the Iraq War
The financial cost to the UK taxpayer of involvement in the Iraq War is £8 billion. That’s over and above the normal defence spending. And you don’t have to take Stuart’s word for it, he’s quoting Gordon Brown.
And just to work out the implication of that amount of money Stuart got out his abacus to found that it was enough to ‘employ over 20,000 nurses for an entire decade. Or almost 15,000 police officers, again for 10 whole years’.
