Creeping commercialism on the PRSD!

from the PRSD shop

We’re happy to report a creeping commercialism at the People’s Republic of South Devon.

Being a not-for-profit social enterprise doesn’t mean that we don’t make money. It means the money we do make goes back into supporting what we do, rather than paying shareholders or proprietors.

We aim to provide reasonable wages for core staff and reasonable rates for contributors, while giving businesses affordable advertise opportunities to our growing and highly discerning readership.

Because we don’t charge loads for anything (except maybe a banner ad for the whole year), we aim to reach our ‘commercial’ goals through plenty of small, incremental moves, like £3.50 a week for an ad thru’ the Addiply system (where you can also check on our stats). Many thanks to the artist T-Shirt people Sabcat for coming on board!

Or you can take an ad for £120 a year – that’s the route which Dartmoor Nature Tours has used.

Addiply also provide text ads on the site: Totnes Monster, Fierce Media, The Art of Stillness and Touchdown Transfers, many thanks.

There’s also a chance to get your ad in our stories, either throughout the site (see the Euroffice ad at the bottom of the stories on the site), or in the RSS feed.

We’ve also diversified. The PRSD store is doing ‘steady’ business, and we occasionally lend our hand in providing websites, the latest being the Equestrian Construction site.

If you’d like to support the PRSD – or any of the News and Media Republic Ltd sites – take an ad, or get in touch. We’re also interested in other collaborations.
