Community groups around Teignbridge could be in for a boost of up to £1,000 for local projects as bids open for a new round of funding by the Teignbridge Strategic Partnership’s Making It Happen fund.

The £28,000 fund is designed to help community and voluntary groups provide a wide range of community projects and activities. Grants of up to £500 are available for projects whose total cost is up to £5,000, and of up to £1,000 for projects whose cost is up to £10,000.

The fund is available to any voluntary and community organisations providing a service in the Teignbridge district, and proposals must fall under at least one of the following areas: improving access to services; healthy living and leisure opportunities; safer and stronger communities; and/or looking after the environment.

The application period for the 2010 funding round opened on  Friday, April 20 and will last until Monday, May 31, with decisions expected on the funding by mid to late June.
