The South West Water bills debacle is nearing a conclusion, according to Torbay MP Adrain Sanders, who led a delegation of Devon and Cornwall MPs to meet chief secretary of the Treasury, Danny Alexander, today to discuss the continuing unfairness of high water and sewerage charges in the South West.
Apparently, Adrian raised a number of issues surrounding options to reduce charges in the region and Danny Alexander pledged to look at ways of finding a solution to the unfairness.
Adrian said: “Step by step we are getting closer to ending the 20-year running sore since privatisation that has seen people in Devon and Cornwall paying the highest charges in the country year on year.”
