Older people who are lonley this Xmas can get a free lunch and an overnight stay

A campaign, COPE@Xmas (Companionship Of People who are Elderly at Xmas) has been launched this year to ensure that older people who are alone or lonely don’t spend this festive season by themselves.

The campaign is organised by Abbeyfield, and older people (55+) throughout the UK can join Abbeyfield residents for a free Christmas lunch and even a free overnight stay between Friday, December 24 and Tuesday, January 4 at Abbeyfield sheltered houses taking part in the initiative.

The cut-off date to register to take part is the Tuesday, December 21. Contact Abbeyfield on 01727 857536 or by visiting the COPE@Xmas siite to find out more about homes taking part in your area.
