Plymouth High School for Girls pupils to discuss the EU's response to slum dwellers with MEP

Two students from Plymouth High School for Girls have written to Giles Chichester, Conservative MEP for the South West and Gibraltar, asking him to meet with them to discuss their project on slum dwellers.

The students, Jennifer Little and Alexander Bindon, together with teacher Jackie Judge, will meet with Giles at the school  on Wednesday, April 27.

The students, who carried out the research for a Citizenship Course, have expressed horror at the living conditions of slum dwellers in countries throughout the world and wish to raise public awareness of their plight.

Giles will tell his young constituents about the actions the European Union is taking to improve living conditions through its food and medical aid programmes and also to safeguard the human rights of the poor in the developing world.
