Plymouth Green Party are holding a special public meeting discussing the development of marine renewable energy in Plymouth.
The meeting is on Wednesday, June 1, 7pm, at the Unitarian Church Hall on Notte Street in central Plymouth.
The guest speaker is Nick Kirsop-Taylor, a Masters student at Plymouth University.
“Plymouth is becoming a centre of excellence for marine renewable energy,” said Nick. “I want to share news on the latest developments and encourage discussion about how we could create local jobs and opportunities.
“Plymouth could become a truly green city leading the way in renewable energy. We have a great opportunity and the authorities should do all they can to make it happen.”
Andy Pratt, Plymouth Green Party organiser said: “The Green Party support the development of renewable energy expertise and jobs in the city. Rather than cutting up nuclear submarines and endangering local people, we should use the Dockyards and other resources to build jobs and opportunities for the future.
“All local residents are welcome to our monthly meeting. Thousands of people voted Green in the recent local elections and we are a growing force in the city.”
The meeting is free to attend with refreshments available.
