Transition Newton Abbot calls for extra support in eco sculpture bid for the town

Transition Newton Abbot is looking to put sculptures around the town, and is calling on people to help support its bid for funding from the British Gas Energyshare funds, which closes at the end of June.

The sculptures will act as a follow on from the Newton’s Cradle project which has reduced Newton Abbot Town Hall’s and Museum’s carbon footprint by 2 tonnes annually.

This public art is intended to put across the message about energy conservation and renewable energy. The sculptures will reference current and future energy related projects. They will bring the show-case measures carried out at the town hall and museum to the wider community, raising awareness and hopefully encouraging people to undertake their own personal action on energy.

The voting follows an X-factor stylee, and you’ll need to sign up to vote (email address and postcode). Go to Transition Newton Abbot Energyshare page, and sign-up at the top right hand corner of the screen or press the “support this group” button.

You’ll have to wait for an e-mail to confirm membership activation before you can vote by pressing the ‘support this group’.

Vote now, and get everyone you know to vote, too!
