After a successful first meeting Honiton has put its name on the register of Transition Towns.
Seven people volunteered to run the steering group to begin the process, and are due to meet next week to start the planning of becoming a fully blown Transition Town – at the moment it is a ‘muller’ (which means they’re mulling it over, apparently).
East Devon enviro-campaigner Sharon Pavey said on her blog: “There are 382 official transition initiatives and if we are successful in meeting the criteria set out by the Transition Network based in Totnes then we will become ‘official’.”
