Waw, I’m proper pooped. If I thought my life couldn’t get any more stupidly busy the past three weeks just proved me wrong. But there’s been lots and lots of musical stuff keeping me busy, so it’s all good.
At stupid o’clock last week I was heading out to Frankfurt to play at the wonderful Musikmesse. I really love being in Germany and my German is *very* slowly improving, to the point that I can just about get around speaking only in German, but conversation is a whole different level that I’m not sure I’ll ever get to!
The show was totally amazing and you always seem to meet a whole ton of really cool peeps. I was playing on the Schlagwerk and Logarhythm stands. Schlagwerk made a really nifty little video while we were there to celebrate 30 years of making percussion instruments. I’m featured in the video playing funk with Mr Chris (Woods) and the Jedi Master of the percussion world Conny Sommer. I was also asked to give a special message to Schlagwerk to say congrats on being in the business 30 years, and I appear to have turned into a proper English person with a stereo typical accent for some reason!
Also if you’re in video watching mode, I’ve uploaded a vid of me playing one of my new tunes called It’s Alright on the Logarhythm stand:
If you’ve read any of my previous articles, you’ll know I’ve been spending lots of time getting my album written, recorded, mastered and printed and… well… finally… after lots of sleepless nights (and I mean lots)…
IT’S FINALLY HERE!!
Woohoo!
My brand new album Bedtime Stories is printed up and all ready to go. I’m a mixture of relieved, happy and proud (but mostly relieved lol). It’s all looking pretty nifty, check it out:
We’re going to be doing the launch party online so that peeps from anywhere in the world can log on and be a part of it. The date is April 13 and we’re doing it through a new website that I’m ever so slightly obsessed with called Stageit.com.
If you’re a musical person it’s well worth checking out as you can stream live gigs and people can either tip you in a virtual busking stylee or you can set a ticket price. When we were testing it out a few nights ago we put up 10 tickets available and in half an hour I’d sold seven – and was sitting in my lounge playing random tunes to people all over the world, really cool stuff.
Here’s the link to the launch party – there’s only 14 tickets left so get in there quick!
Today will be a day of extreme chilling. It’s been the first time in about three weeks I’ve been able to stop for a moment and catch my breath, but life will begin to get very manical again as – as I’ve got a trip to Holland, my UK tour through May & June and also my online launch party to organise, so I’d best make the most of my chill day
