I’m now six gigs into the Tea Total Tour and it’s been bloomin hard work but oodles of fun.
Here’s a couple of vlogs if you fancy checking out gigs 1, 2, 3 & 4:
Last Friday I was playing at The Boston Tea Party in Honiton. When we arrived at 6.30pm to set up the PA it was absolutely baking inside (and outside for that matter!).
The lovely peeps at the BTP offered us a room inside or said as the weather was so nice we could set up outside. After a mini discussion we all thought it might be a nice idea to set up camp outside and make the most of the gorgeous sunshine (as let’s face it, it’ll probably be gone before we know it lol).
I was due to start at around 8pm and thought I’d just play 1 set straight through hopefully finish before the cool night air kicked in. Unfortunately, it got colder a little sooner than we’d expected and by about 8.30pm my poor audience had gradually put on jumpers, jackets and what ever else they could find to try and keep warm. It was still lots of fun and I’m extremely grateful to them for sticking with me the whole night.
My support act for the evening!
The next day I was off to Bracknell to headline Folking Live which is a regular monthly event that happens at The Cellar Bar in the South Hill Arts Centre.
It was yet another day of gorgeous hot sunshine and I was a little worried about this putting people off from coming along… but thankfully lots of lovely peeps ventured down to the cellar (which was actually lovely to cool down in after being in a hot car for four hours!).
My next two tour dates should be fun….Friday I’ll be hosting another online gig via Stageit.com and there’s only six tickets left (so if you’d like to be a part of it then check out www.stageit.com/funkeegirl). Then Saturday it’s a local one at Stokefest (Stoke-in-Teignhead). This’ll be the festival’s first year and the line up looks pretty nifty.
