Cosmic ethical IT have donated funds to the new Honiton Beehive Community Complex, helping the charity, which is aiming to raise £30,000.
The Friends of the Beehive charity has been on a fundraising drive since March 2012 and with building works just about to begin, a last minute call through social media brought the plight to the attention of Cosmic’s chief executive Julie Hawker.
She told the PRSD: “We noticed the plea on Twitter and as a social enterprise ourselves, dedicated to supporting the use of IT in the community, we were delighted to help support the aims of the Beehive Community Complex.”
Friends of the Beehive need these extra funds to make the new community centre building fit for purpose – with donations being used to equip the building with screens for the Community Cinema, a sound system for our local choir and other community groups.
Secretary of Friends of the Beehive John Burgess said: “We would like to thank Cosmic not only for this very generous gift but also for their message of support. We look forward to when the new Beehive Centre can act as a hub for all the many organisations and individuals who work so hard for the good of our community.”
Cosmic is based in the East Devon Business Centre on Heathpark, feels very much part of the Honiton community. Along side developing high quality websites and e-marketing support, they deliver a lot of free training from the business centre for the community locally.
“We’ve created our Happy Hour which businesses and the community can come along for free to learn more about Cosmic and how IT can help you,” said Julie.
