Spring is springing and it’s the perfect time to step out and enjoy it, especially if that includes taking in the double Bay Blooms award-winning Rowcroft garden.
The estates team at Rowcroft scooped two awards at the Bay Blooms presentation last year, winning first prize in the ‘under 30ft gardens’ category for the area outside the Outpatient Centre and a highly commended for the hanging baskets. The success at these awards prompted the team to make the gardens available for the local community to enjoy.
Simon Weal, Rowcroft estates manager told the PRSD: “Please come along and take a walk around Rowcroft’s extensive grounds and learn about the estate’s history; wander through the scented garden, take a walk through the orchard and find out about the old air-raid shelter constructed during World War II.
“There is plenty of wildlife to spot along the way so bring your binoculars too.”
All are welcome and there is no charge for entry. Dogs are not permitted in the grounds unless they are guide dogs. As the route is over mixed terrain, visitors are recommend to wear sturdy trainers, walking shoes or wellies. Pushchairs are welcome if of the sturdy variety (back carriers advisable).
Rowcroft will be opening their award winning gardens to the general public on Sunday, March 17 from 10am–3pm.
