Plymouth’s premier cycling event is back with a new location and new routes!
The St Luke’s Tour de Moor, sponsored by Itec, returns on Sunday, October 13 at the new location of Harrowbeer Airfield, near Yelverton.
Join hundreds of bikers as they hit Dartmoor, for a day of thrills, hills, mud and sweat, taking to the rugged terrain of Dartmoor and helping to raise £100,000 for St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth.
From the leisurely 7 mile fun cycle of Drakes Trail to the brave challenge of a 35 mile route to Princetown, there’s even an intermediate 15 miler to make sure there is something for riders of all abilities.
The Tour de Moor promises to be a great family day out with a chance to see hundreds of bikers up close and activities for the children to keep them entertained.
The event’s fundraiser at St Luke’s Hospice Plymouth, Emma Winter said: “This is fast becoming one of our largest and most popular fundraising activities in our events calendar.
“This year we are boasting a brand new location, new routes and have improved the overall infrastructure, parking and registration to make it the best yet! Everybody loves getting on their bike and the Tour de Moor is the perfect way to combine a great activity with helping to raise money for St Luke’s”.
The Tour de Moor is sponsored by Itec, a provider of Office Print Productions, Document Workflow Solutions and Production Print across the South West. Headquartered in Bristol, Itec also have six additional offices, including one in Plymouth.
It’s the second year Itec have sponsored this event and they have been very keen to continue their support for St Luke’s as sales and marketing support executive at Itec, Brontae Orme explains: “We are delighted to be supporting this event for the second year in a row.
“Last year’s event was a huge success and raised £75,000 for St Luke’s Hospice.
“It’s great to see the city of Plymouth really getting behind their local charity to raise the vital funds needed to continue the amazing work carried out by St Luke’s.
“This year, we are hoping to see more riders take part in this fantastic fundraising event. We’re planning to put in our own team of 30 riders, beating our entry of 21 last year! The staff at Itec are all really excited to be taking part, and helping to smash the £100k target which has been set for this year. “
