Pride in Plymouth joined in a protest against the new Russian version of the old Tory Section 28 Law. The Russian Duma has passed a law imposing fines on people who provide information about homosexuality to people under 18.
And as usually happens when governments take the lead in demonising sections of society, certain people follow suit, and there has been a rise in homophobic and violent assaults throughout Russia.
As part of a world-wide protest, a global ‘kiss-in’ was aimed send a ‘To Russia With Love’ message. Pride in Plymouth took their part under Plymouth’s Big Screen on Sunday, September 8.
It was dully reported in the Plymouth Herald… cue the dull thud of mind-numbing prejudice.
