Parkour, running and free-running will make the basis of a new performance piece by Kelly Miller, which is set to explore time, space and place. And if that sounds a bit tiring, be thankful that the title Running | Out Of Time has been shorted to R | OOT, which will hopefully save your breath, at least a bit.
What will happen is this: Participants are given a time code that guides them through a city landscape with a set of free-running instructions. Video recording their experience, they will upload the footage to an online global platform where it will be broadcast simultaneously with other participants performing the same task in different cities around the world.
This project aims to choreograph female parkourists and free-runners, innovators and recreators in their place, connected by time and technology but spread across the globe in very different cities.
You can take part or just watch as the platform becomes populated.
The R | OOT starting gun goes off at the launch on November 21, will be through an installation of the first five videos recorded at a private view. Then it’s free-running for all!
To find out more about, put your trainers on and point your feet to R | OOT.
