Torbay Adrian Sanders MP has hailed the recent designation of a Marine Conservation Zone along the Torbay coastline.
Torbay has been selected as one of 27 new Marine Conservation Zones (MCZs) around the country’s coast. The decision was announced in Parliament by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
Each MCZ has been chosen in order to provide ecological benefits for its region and to help preserve the local marine environment.
Adrian told D&CFilm: “I am absolutely delighted with the decision. I have been supporting Devon Wildlife Trust and others in their push for an MCZ for some time and I’m very pleased that all their hard work has paid off.
“MCZs are the way forward for preserving fish stocks as well as the undersea environment. They are key to ensuring that everybody involved has their say in the future management of this vital part of our ecology.”
