We at the People’s Republic of South Devon are keen for you to send us your musings, photos, and artwork for publication.
If you want to submit material to the PRSD, you may do so on the following terms and conditions.
Generally speaking, if you want to send us a story for publication, it needs to be around 350 words – or six to eight paragraphs. Anything longer than that is liable to bore the pants off the reader.
We don’t pay for submissions, except in very rare cases – we’re not made of money, y’know.
You own the copyright of anything you send us, but publication of any material will be at our sole discretion. We may cut, edit, crop or arrange your stuff as we see fit. Don’t worry too much though – we kinda know what we’re doing.
Furthermore, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to republish any material you submit to us in any format, including without limitation print and electronic format.
You also warrant to us that any material you submit is your own original work and that you own the copyright and any other relevant rights.
If it isn’t your own work, you must have permission from the owner to send it to us. Be sure they’re aware they are granting us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish them any way and at any time we want on the PRSD.
We’ll publish your name alongside your work. If you want to use a pseudonym, make sure you still send us your real details. Otherwise, it seems a bit suss.
Oh, and remember you’ll still own the copyright on your work so you can republish it wherever and whenever you wish.

• We accept one-off submissions, but we are also keen to extend our number of regular contributors. If you think this is something for you, then drop us a line.
• And if you’ve got something to say, but you don’t know how to say it, get in touch – we may be able to help.

A few pointers:
• Of course, we prefer original content, but if you’re a blogger and think an article of yours would be of interest to the PRSD audience, submit an edited version of it and a link to the original on your site.
• Or, if you’re a blogger, you can submit a roundup of your articles you think would be of interested to the PRSD audience.
• If you’re new to writing, you may prefer to record your thoughts, you can do so on any recording device and send it to us, or phone our answerphone service on 01626 818 464
• We’re always happy to receive photographs and artwork, try to make sure in the first instance that the size you send is sensible for inclusion on the web – we’ll get back in touch if we need better quality images to include your work in our printed publications.

Before submitting:
Please ensure you get names right, make sure your quotes are accurate and check all your spellings, sums and geography (and anything else that looks like it needs checking). And remember to include links and attributes where needed.
