Think of a cattle market café and a slightly shabby eatery serving doorstep sandwiches and caustic tea might come to mind – ubiquitous welly-boots and associated manure making for surroundings that are more sterile than welcoming. The Wharf at Tavistock, a privately run arts centre, is currently hosting an exhibition of local artwork as part of the annual Tavistock Music and Arts Festival.

The first three entries are in for the arts+culture ad competition. Artists were given the challenge to design a 125×125 ad for the arts+culture website, linking to themselves, to win the chance to be featured on the cover of the arts+culture magazine.
