The county council is united in its efforts to become the second Fairtrade county in the country. This will involved all the usual gubbins of serving up the Fairtrade tea, coffee and biscuits at all their gatherings along with a request to the Office of Fair Trading (now, wouldn’t it be fun if it was the Office of Fairtrading) to look into supermarkets squeezing the producer in a way that does not proportionally benefit the consumer, or some such. Fair enough, I say, now let’s just combine it with a similar approach to social care and we’ll be well away.
