Melting Pot: Plus #1

SAY HULLO TO: WHO ARE: Demelza (vocals), James (guitars/production) and Richard (bass)
THEY SAY: “Eclectic music for eclectic people”
WE SAY: Awesome stuff, with fat beats and beautifully raw vocals, fusing live sound with electronica. They’re tight as fuck and brilliant live performers. Demelza’s voice slides like silk between Sinead O’Connor, Bjork and Skin from Skunk Anansie. A loud, furious, exhilarating ride.
RANDOM LYRIC: “Over the top and then I drop back down again, back on the
floor, again I’m crawling…”
NEED TO KNOW: They’re independent and from Dartmoor. Oh yes, its all going on in the People’s Republic!

Don’t have a cow

If you were thinking of sending a cow to Kenya for Christmas, then don’t (you’ve probably missed the last posting date, too).

As any of the number of South Devon farmers will tell you, keeping animals costs money. And it isn’t the most efficient way for poverty stricken regions to get food - you’ve got to grow the grass for the cow to eat it first, capisce?

Animal Aid is supporting a HIPPO initiative. A what? HIPPO - Help International Plant Protein Organisation. A what? You know, growing fruit and nuts and other energy efficient crops with a longer life. Check them out for more details.
