Wet, wet, wet

The Environment Agency is aiming to make a splash with its Flood Awareness Day in Plymouth this week (heh heh!).

Held on Wednesday in the city centre’s Place de Brest, the event will boast a pool of agency experts (oh, our aching sides), advising citizens on how they can protect themselves and their properties from flooding.

The agency will also be offering flood-warning alerts to businesses and households at risk via phone, mobile, fax, SMS, email and pager.

Apparently, there are around 1,800 properties at risk in the Plymouth area alone, so it’s vital that homeowners check themselves to protect themselves. Or something.

Find out if you need to invest in some wellies by calling Floodline on 0845 988 1188 or by logging on to the environmenal agency website.
