What a waster

Here’s a surprise. According to a report released this week, Britons are the biggest energy wasters in Europe.  Well, imagine that.

However, it’s not all bad news. ICM Research, on behalf of the Energy Saving Trust, examined the country’s energy habits  and compiled a UK Energy Wasters’ League, highlighting how the various regions compare.

Turns out, people in the South West are responsible for an average of 21 energy wasting actions each week, compared to a national average of 32.

In fact, we top the Energy Wasters’ League (which sounds like a bad thing but is actually Very Good Indeed). Hooray for us.

The report goes on to add that this fantastic result is entirely attributable to the efforts of the PRSD website (not strictly true).

Sonic illusions indeed

A group of people with masks like they're in a cabaret type thing

I don’t mind saying that the guys of the triple bill that announces itself as an evening of ‘phantasmogorical symphonies and electro-spectral musical phenomena ’scare me. The three musical items are Pram, Blissbody/Mark Anderson and Project Glass. Rare, invigorating, unique, spectacular, oscillating, shimmeringly fragile, I have no doubt. But even the promise of Czech animation can’t get over the ‘creepy Victoriana’ which was mentioned in the press release. This is a special set for the south west and is on at the Exeter Phoenix on November 3 at 8.30pm. The cost to you is £10, with that falling to £8 if you have one of those cards that allow you concessions.
